The Deaf Sports Club was founded in 1972, initially in the form of small-sided football. Since then, the team has continuously evolved and has recently competed in the deaf futsal championship. Currently, they participate in the NB II league, where they compete against hearing players. The team’s goal is to showcase the world of hearing-impaired athletes and prove that participation in the sport is not just a privilege for the hearing.
The team has over eleven departments, and although most members are hearing impaired, they are open to hearing players as well. To strengthen cooperation and community spirit, the team continually seeks new members and holds tryouts. Team captain Norbert Pányi stated that the team focuses not only on sports performance but also on community building and forming friendships.
Among their objectives is the possibility of joining the national team. The team wishes to participate in the deaf futsal European Championship and World Championship, which would be a great honor for them. Based on their past achievements, the team proudly represents Hungary and is committed to becoming even more successful in the future.
