We can make fluid intake more varied by using flavored water. For example, adding lemon or orange slices, or fresh mint leaves to water not only makes it tastier but also provides a visually pleasing experience. However, it is important to ensure that the drink is not too cold, as consuming cold liquids can increase sweating, as the body has to expend more energy to regulate temperature.

The minerals lost through sweating need to be replenished, which can be easily achieved by consuming steamed vegetables or lightly salted teas. Instead of sweets and overly sugary drinks, consuming fresh fruits and vegetables can also be an excellent solution, as they not only hydrate but also provide our bodies with nutrients.

What to Watch Out for in the Heat?

In extreme heat, it is advisable to avoid alcoholic beverages, as they have a diuretic effect and contain many calories. Coffee is also not the best choice, as it stimulates circulation, which can lead to increased sweating.

Instead, juicy fruits and vegetables, such as watermelon, cantaloupe, oranges, cucumbers, and tomatoes, provide a great alternative. These are not only refreshing but also help with hydration due to their high water content.
